What to know before you arrive:

Ski Cortland offers something for everyone of the skier family. With Greek Peak, Song, Labrador, and Toggenburg Mountains all easily accessible the only problem is choosing which area to visit first. Accomodation options include Greek Peak's Hope Lake Lodge featuring rooms that are ideal for families, offering adjoining suite options if needed, as well as mini kitchens. In Cortland, lodging options run the gamut from economy to cozy B&B, ideal for families of all sizes. You can be in the heart of the city or at the base of the mountain!

Here's the thing about Ski Cortland – you're going to want to spend at least a full day exploring each of the mountains and their many activities. It's the ideal way to let your kids' imaginations and feet run wild. Not, like, feral child wild, but like, burn those calories and actually fall asleep at bedtime wild. The mom-approved kind of wild.

Day One:  Ski Lessons, Water Park & Spa

Anyone in the family need to brush up with a lesson? Book a private lesson with one of the four SKI Cortland mountains' expert skiers and riders. Your little guys and gals are in great hands on the mountain. When you're ready, head to the chairlift for a day of shredding on some double black diamonds, or leisurely family-style skiing on the easier greens and blues.

For lunch, mountain offerings include Trax Pub & Grill at Greek Peak, The Last Run at Labrador, Moguls Restaurant at Song, and The Foggy Goggle at Toggenburg. If you are at Greek Peak we recommend enjoying a bluebird day lunch on the new two-tiered heated deck outside of Trax Pub & Grill. You can hang by the fire pit and watch all the skiers come down the trails. After the fam is done with outdoor fun, head to Cascades Indoor Water Park & Arcade and watch your little ones splash and swim, and race down four epic waterslides or head into Cortland for indoor mini golf at Shipwreck Golf featuring the longest hole in the world! Suitable for all ages, Cascades offers an indoor-outdoor pool and hot tub for guests who want to cool off and watch the sun set while Shipwreck Golf offers an ice cream bar for a delightful reward.

For dinner, visit Historic Downtown Cortland, to stroll through the charming streets before popping into one of the city's family-friendly eateries such as The Community Restaurant, or Brix Pubaria. After dinner, grab a growler of local beer from the Cortland Beer Company, or treat yourself to a bottle of wine from the nearby Finger Lakes Region at the Finger Lakes Tasting Room to enjoy back at your room or stop by the Local Food Market or The Daily Grind to stock up on groceries or snacks and drinks. Head back to the resort or hotel, pop some popcorn, and put a movie on that the kids will inevitably fall asleep to within 15 minutes. Day well spent.

Day Two: Tubing, Downtown Cortland, Ice Cream & Waffles, Shopping & Theater

After a full day of shredding it, the family might be ready for a change of pace. Visit Greek Peak's Nordic Center then Lime Hollow Nature Center for fat bike, snowshoe, cross country or kick sled rentals and pretend you're taking the kids on a dogsled ride, sans actual sled dogs. If your legs are aching, the Snow Tubing Centers are located at Greek Peak's Adventure Center and Toggenburg Mountain, offer ttubing lanes for a speedy, sit-down adventure activity.

For lunch, head into Historic Downtown Cortland and treat yourself to a round of ice cream and waffles at the Cortland Diner, or the best sandwich of your life at the Deli Downtown. Seriously, that place is famous for its sammies. Burn some extra calories and check out the charming shops and boutiques located along Main Street, offering everything from toys to jewelry and unique gifts. Find options for evening entertainment at the Cortland Repertory Theatre. Kid-friendly shows, as well as grown up entertainment are planned throughout the winter. Continue your exploration, including the area's family-friendly dining options, and enjoy the rest of your ski getaway.
